The Goodall Family Line: This is an overview of some of the main family members.
I have not been able to find very much information on the Goodall Family other than the following:
William and Ruth Goodall lived in Upper Clatford, Hampshire and Ruth gave birth to William junior on the 17th March 1799. William subsequently married Martha Ford in the Parish of St. Mary's, Lambeth on 27th March 1826. On the Parish record of the marriage, Martha's Father was named as John Ford.
William and Martha Goodall appear on the 1841 and 1851 Census in Froxfield, Hampshire where William is recorded as an Agricultural Labourer in 1841. The ages given on both Census Returns are probably guesses but suggest that Martha was born in either 1806 or 1811 in West Meon, Hampshire.
The 1841 Census includes 2 children, Sarah born circa 1834 and another William born circa 1836. The 1851 excludes Sarah so it can be assumed she is either deceased, married or working elsewhere. The 1851 Census also records William as a 'Pauper, formerly an Agricultural Labourer' and that he was blind.
William's death is recorded in 1862, presumably in Froxfield, the registration having been made in Petersfield.
Following William Goodall's death, Martha became the 2nd wife of Philip Bailey in Froxfield on 16th January 1864. See the Bailey Family for more information.
